Nature is the most powerful designer on this earth. Let’s build with it!
Bringing life back to the urbanized environment and making the seasons visible again: edGreen’s philosophy. A symbiosis between green and gray, between nature and culture. Climate change and urbanization call for different and appropriate architecture. Nature offers wonderful elements to build with. The integration of green facades creates a genuine and sustainable synergy between the two.
our concept
A green facade from edGreen is constructed from patented concrete blocks that can be bonded together to form a wall or facade. These blocks incorporate irrigation pipes, which are watered and fed by a standalone or web-based system. The vertical cavities in the bricks are filled with substrate, while plants are planted in the openings at the front. Our system can be used as an exterior cavity wall, interior wall, or even as a freestanding garden wall.
edGreen by Edwin Meyer Viol
In his work as an architect, founder Edwin Meyer Viol increasingly received requests for an affordable green wall. This led to the inspiration and development of this extremely simple construction system. This was achieved by nesting the traditional outer cavity wall with the green facade, creating a single, simple construction system.
edGreen—a trading name of F2 Facade B.V.—is a spin-off from DMV architects, where the affordable green wall was developed using a down-to-earth architectural approach. We work closely with architects on new concepts and application possibilities. This unique collaboration guarantees the feasibility and technical realization of the wall within affordable and realistic budgets.
